Summer Visit

Summer before last, Ezekiel and I met an amazing couple who were visiting the mountains from Florida through a mutual friend and wonderful neighbor. We had just found out that we would soon be expecting a little baby. And guess who had the same little secret!? The boys were born 2 weeks apart :) Last summer, when they came for another visit, the boys were just 4-5 months old and we enjoyed lazy days and short hikes. Then Christmas came and along with it, the BIGGEST snow in FOREVER!! Which meant, our Florida friends were snowed in with us!!! The boys were both just weeks from turning 1. Our days were full of sledding, hot cocoa, jager, WD, naps for all of us, fires, grilling, and tons of fun. (They stay in a cabin a very short distance from our old house..) Shortly after they left, my little family moved to Greensboro..we worried we wouldn't be able to make the trip to spend a week with them this summer in the mountains. Fortunately, all our plans worked out and matched up. And what a wonderful week we had with them!!! Two 17 month olds keep you busy!!! Ezekiel wasn't able to join us until Saturday, but Tucker and I were able to spend a few days with them before! Both boys were shy at first but it took no time for them to warm up!

Pisgah Forest, Davidson River, Saluda, Green River, Jeter Mountain, Green River BBQ, cook outs, bear scare, Florida drivers, fires, late night chats, smack talk and oh so much more. Absolutely love the time we get to spend with them. Few and far between but always welcome :)
