October and November Catch-Up

All I do is play catch up on this blog! I don't know if anyone at all even reads this or not, and that doesn't matter to me. What matters is that I can post a picture. Write a little story about it. Save it. Print it. Have it forever. I have forever pictures that capture some of our best adventures and our day-to-day life. Again, these pictures are from my phone so they're out of order and they aren't the best quality :-)

Tucker's "Sweetheart"

The kids got sick twice in October and November so far.
Ry currently has the Hand Foot and Mouth virus. Which sucks. Her whole little mouth and throat are full of blisters. Which as of today right before lunch, it appears the germs have now been shared and Tucker has caught the virus.
This past Saturday, we went to the West vs. North alumni football game. It was surprisingly fun and it was great to see old friends! Saturday afternoon/evening we thought Ry was just coming down with a cold. Twenty minutes into the game, Rylie conked out and slept thru loud cheering in the stands.
In October, the stomach bug hit our house and hit Tucker HARD. Ten solid days of vomit and diarrhea..sucks. After a horrible throw up session in the backseat of my suv, Tucker learned the cup trick and that poor cup never left his side until the bug was gone.
Best $4 game ever. Memory Game! He sets this game up and quietly plays it for hours alone.
Hand On afternoon. This girl is beyond in love with baby dolls.
Our neighbor gave us this little gal over the weekend. She still doesn't have a name besides "Bird" but she is beautiful..and super low maintenance so far!!
We went to Best Buy last weekend and it was so cold outside. I buckled Rylie up, jumped into the car to wait on the boys and turned around to her giggling. She discovered pockets. :)
In October, it was such beautiful weather. We enjoyed many many picnics on the porch!
This little man is a PRO at scooping up so Kilwin's ice cream at Hands On!!
Same Best Buy night. The Arden store sent us to the Tunnel Road store and Tucker decided on the way there that it was past his bedtime and he was going to sleep. He asked for daddy's "melon warmer" and pulled it all the way on. He was out in seconds!
Recently I took Tucker to Ingles alone. Just the two of us. This is very rare! I let him pick out one treat for behaving so well. He decided to buy some hot chocolate with colored marshmallows. And soon found out how yummy hot chocolate is!
Rylie's second Halloween costume. Punk rocker baby.
Round one of the sick bug. Rylie:0 Bug:1.
Rylie's first Halloween costume. She was super unamused the first time I put it on her.
Out of order pictures. More baby time at Hands On.
Tucker trying to play a game around his sweet little sister..
A candy treasure hunt... Halted many times for Rylie as she was too tempted by the candy in her bag to keep looking.
My little hero!!
We went to the Asheville Nature Center a few weeks ago with my mom. The kids had a blast! (Ok, mom and Bapa did too!)
My mom was getting ready to put her into the bath tub a few weeks ago after Sunday dinner. I undressed her and sent her in to Bapa, she wanted to sit on the potty. Since then, she has pooped in the potty one time but never anything else. She insists on sitting on the potty and trying several times every day though, so maybe potty training isn't too far off...
snuggling her baby on the front swing :)
Adorable little girl.
Rice table!!
Halloween night. He was SO READY to go trick-or-treating!
Collecting candy at the candy treasure hunt!
Daddy holding the sweet little girl at the football game.
I heard the kids go into the bathroom and shut the door. A few minutes and a lot of giggling later, I peeked in at them. Tucker had gotten both their tooth brushes ready and they were both brushing their teeth. Between giggling and brushing, he was giving Rylie complete instructions on how to properly brush her teeth. He must have been listening all those times I told him! Love how he is smiling down at her and she's looking up at him
She crawled up on his lap and they snuggled like this for  long time. Best big brother ever? I think so!!

It's been such a busy last couple of months! Hopefully by Thanksgiving the kids will be feeling better and all the sick bugs will be out of our house! We're ready for the holidays :-)

Weekend Hiking

Not sure what trail this was or what the waterfall was called but it was beautiful!!
There's not many trails that are baby and 3 year old friendly in Pisgah/on the BRP. But this one was awesome!!
(Bare with me..I'm blogging from my phone and its a pain to do!!)
And the pictures are all out of order...

We went with a friend and her 3 year old daughter. It was a bit chilly but totally worth it!

What do you know..OF COURSE Rylie was the one that fell/sat in mud as soon as we got to the falls..despite everyone's efforts to keep her out of any water.
Tucker has this thing..where he gets a stick, calls it an old mans cane and bends over, hobbling. All the while saying repeatedly "I'm an old woman" in a shaky old lady voice! It's hilarious! He taught Charlie to do it too on our hike.
Once we got to the falls, the kids had the best time running back and forth along the rocks!
After Rylie lost her pants to the muddy puddle, she got a ride from Daddy threw the woods.

Can you spot Daddy and Tucker??
Every single bridge we went on, all three kids wanted to run across it and then the older ones wanted to go back and sit for pictures.
Tucker and Charlotte did the best job of making sure Rylie was safe sitting on the bridge.
Tucker runnin on the slick rocks under the falls.
"Don't worry mom, I'll protect her!"
On the way back to the cars, Ry, of course, had to prove that she was a big girl too!
My favorite picture of these two!
Bridge stomping in the woods! Who can resist making some noise running!?
seconds before she tumbled into the mud
"Eat this flower or I will scream!"
Exploring. Depicts the kids perfectly..Tucker running and jumping, Ry throwing things.
Little old ladies in training.
This picture cracks me up! She was trying to help him climb up this stump.
Leave it to two ice cream obsessed three year olds to find a rock, get behind it and immediately open an ice cream stand together. It started off with delicious flavors like strawberry, chocolate, blueberry, etc and soon nosedived into fish, snake, moldy coffee, etc flavors. Passing hikers sure did get a kick out of it!

Sure are lucky kids to grow up in such a gorgeous area of the state!
